Dr. Slazus received his degree from the University of Stellenbosch and obtained his eye surgery training at the Medical School of Stellenbosch at the Tygerberg Hospital. He is a member of the Ophthalmological Society of South Africa, the American Cataract and Refractive Society, the South African Cataract and Refractive Society, the International Refractive Club, and fellow of the College of Ophthalmology and the College of Surgeons with Opthalmology. Post-graduate training included full-time resident in the Department of Ophthalmology from 1979 to 1983.
